Writing Goal 2015

Description:
Poutama had a sheet that was sentences words and ideas. My goal is words. In words I am working on connectives. Our task was to look at our writing book, and find the things that the box in the sheet tells us to look for. I chose connectives because the box had no ticks that I had some.

Completing Sentences

We have been doing some completing sentences in our writing group. Our task was to fill in the sentences. It had to be finished the next day. I hope you like my sentences.

Here are some tips to filling in the sentences:

  • Make sure they make sense
  • Make your teacher or family proud

  1. One day he was out walking.... the fire alarm went off near by.

Te Ahu a Turanga Noho Marae

Description:  In week 7, we had an overnight stay at the local Marae in Woodville.  We were immersed in Maori culture and participated in a range of activities.  We set two goals to focus on during our stay.

Big Idea:  
1.  Did you achieve your goals?  How do you know?
I have achieved these goals because I used all my energy in the whole day not when I woke up. Also I know more about my group because I now know a lot more about them.

2.  What are you most proud of from the Marae stay and why?
I am most proud of not working with my friends or people I know because I want to know more about some other people.

3.  What challenged you the most and why?
The Gorge walk challenged me the most because I have done it for a while so when I went up my legs stared to hurt. But it was a lot of fun!

 This is my bookmark that we made after the Marae. The first one means teamwork and togetherness. The second one is when I was on the gorge walk I saw a Kereru for the first time. And the last one is the gorge walk because it is a really cool place of nature.

Position And Orientation (Geometry With Eb)



Description: We have been learning about Position and Orientation with Eb. It is a part of our learning about Geometry at maths time.

I agree with georgia that will be my goal next time I do this I will make a movie at home when I am able to. My other goal would be to now my south east west and north more because I keep on forgetting were they are but apart from that I reckon that I am fine.

Story Telling

Purpose: create a story to share orally
Description: 
Oral storytelling is a Maori tradition. We have been planning our own story to tell on the Marae in week 7.
The Big Idea: 
My story is about a girl, called Abby. In this story here Mum tells her not to go in a strangers car. But when she comes back from school she hops in a strangers van. Her Mum and dad find her in the dump and tell her "See why you don't go in a strangers car!"






Evaluation:

When I do this again my goal will be to do it with more loud crowd voice so that everyone can here what I am saying more clearly. I have achieved what kayla has said on my second time. Kayla said that I need to make more facial expiration.

Bus Stop Writing


Purpose: Describe the characters 

 There was a girl walking to the bus stop to go back home from school. But then she stopped. Her mouth opens wide and says. “ OMG A BUS STOP MADE OUT OF A BUS!”
She sits inside the bus stop and thinks I wounded if they are doing this to all the bus stops.
She sees the bus coming to pick her up. The bus stops right in front of her. Herrrrr! the doors open it is appositely dead no one else was on the bus. She asks the bus driver. “ Are the other bus stops are like that?” He answers. “ No. sorry kid.”
When she arrived home she says to here mum. “ Can we not move I want to stay here because there is this really cool bus stop.”

Whoops Didn't Print!

On Monday, we watched a really funny movie about 2 people who get stuck on an escalator. Have you seen it?




Criteria: (Content)
  • Video - 30 seconds long, time is limited. 
  • Scenario - Show someone being stuck and not using the ability to act. 
  • Clear Message - Short sharp clip. Can the watcher get the point of your video?
  • Unique - Coming up with something funny that gets a laugh from others. 
  • Time Passing - Do you need to show time passing in your clip to emphasise your message. 

Criteria: (Movie)

  • Light - Make sure the sun isn’t creating a hard to see clip. 
  • Voice Volume - Needs to be louder than other background volume eg Noise, Kids.
  • Frame - What’s in the frame to make your message obvious. 
  • Steady Hands - Make sure the camera is still. 
  • Individual Clips - Don’t do one continuous shot of 30 seconds. Make a range of short clips and join together. 
Feedback And Feedfoward:
I think it is really cool of how you and your group made the lighting really good. What I think you could work on is maybe make the message more clearer because we can't really see Sophie clicking cancel instead of print.

Swimming Smart Goals

Description:
We have been having swimming lessons to help us get ready for the big swimming day, where we race to come 1st 2nd and 3rd for your team. My team Is Kiwi. I am good at remembering my togs on swimming days. Our swimming days are Wensday, Thursday and Friday. 

My Goals:
For freestyle my goal is to leave my head down looking at the ground. To achieve this goal I need to remember to look down. 

For backstroke my goal is to keep my body straight like a arrow. To achieve this goal I need to remember to not have wiggly hips.

At the swimming sports day my goal is to come 1st 2nd or 3rd because last year I came 4th. So this year I want to get better at what I did last year. 
Evaluation: 
I have looked at both of the movies and I recon I have gone faster. I have  achieved my goals and I am really happy with myself. Also I am glad because when I did breaststroke I came first and that was the first I did breaststroke at swimming sports so I am feeling really proud.

Maths Test!

Description:
 We have done a maths test to figure out what stage we are up to. So theres stage 4 5 6 and 7 there is only one person on stage 7 but there will be more, I am on stage 5. The pink high litter mean think so thats your goal. Also the yellow high litter mean gold so that is that u have worked it out in 3 seconds. If the title of the different parts are high littered pink and its got yellow, it means that that was a bit tricky. We have to work it out in 3 seconds to get them correct.     

Goal: 
My goal for stage 5 is complete the pattern. I am going to achieve this goal by doing lots and lots of practice till I get them in 3 seconds. So I will be able to make it to my next goal. I hope I get it done at the end of this month for this goal I am working on.

Remember the time wanting to be on road patrol, and making new friends? It  was so cool!

Remember in Sonita's  class looking up to Zoe my buddy, also touching the BOILING HOT glue gun? MAN THAT HURT!

Remember tagging people in flags? it was ridiculously awesome! Also did you remember at break time there was a girls side and a boys side? It was super funny!

Remember the first year of Poutama? It was so cool all the people, and everything we did!

The Ghost Story


Chapter 1
Welcome to horror woods


One day there was a town called Horror woods. When it was 7pm, Sophie and Georgia ran home from school when they saw a ghost approaching them. But they didn’t know how friendly the ghost was... The Ghost Story. They went to georgia’s house because they were having a sleepover. Then they shouted in a scared way. “ THERE IS GHOST OUT THERE!!! LOOK OUTSIDE THE WINDOW!!!” Said Georgia and Sophie at the same time. So Alana looked out the window and saw the ghost on the road. Then she whispered so the ghost would of not looked this way. “ Your right there is a ghost outside. Lets shut the curtains. Quick!..” We shut every single curtains in the whole house, up starts and down starts shannon stomps down the stars, Shannon in down with her pink doggie PJ’s and shouts to Alana her Mum “ WHY DID YOU SHUT THE CURTAINS!!” Alana goes to the window and peeks and shuts the curtain again. Alana turns round and whispers to Shannon. “ SHHH... There is a ghost outside so we have shut the curtains so the ghost won’t come this way. Hey Georgia do you know if it is a nice ghost?” Georgia replays while whispering. “ No I don’t, sorry Mum.” Next Shannon replies in a whispery way.  “ Okay Mummy I am going to keep on playing with my doll, okay mummy. And Mummy...” “Yes...”  Said Alana. Shannon continued. “ Please don’t die. If you do I die too. I here my doll calling me she saying Shannon get here know.”  Shannon tip toes back up the starts like a little mouse. Sophie goes to the window and opens the curtains, and peeks out the window sneakily looking around for the ghost. Then suddenly Sophie stops looking at the drive way there the ghost was. It was actually it was a shape of a collie mixed with a huntaway.


Chapter 2
here comes the ghost....


The ghost is at the front door. Sophie and Georgia goes outside they are running there buts of to safe the guinea pigs Peach's and Pumpkin there guinea pig pets. Alanna comes out shannon is on Alanna’s leg. Alanna says to georgia and Sophie. “The ghost went inside the house we need to climb over the fence QUICK!” We climb over the fence step by step the ghost comes out of the house. Once we had reached  the next door neighbor’s house the puppy soul has caught us. Shannon stands up and puts her hand through the puppy soul, the puppy soul is laughing in happiness. Shannon is laughing in happiness too. Shannon brings her hand down. The puppy soul talks to Georgia and Sophie. “ Georgia and Sophie I have something to tell you . There is a black dog with red eyes that wants to suck your soul right out of your body's to finish the spell to make all his soul friends comes back to life. Georgia Doses a big loud scream. “ AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”  You could here Georgia’s scream from the other side of the world. Shannon says. “ Dun Dun Dunnnn...”   


The Dog Rescue


Welcome Little Puppy


One day on the streets there was a little puppy named bolt. He was a black lab, he had no owner. So some people rang up the pound, to take there so bolt won’t hurt anyone. When the dog pound van came in a flash of lightning they caught Bolt with a net in one big swing and swung him into the van, into a cage. Then he noticed that there was another puppy named Skyla, she was a Collie mixed with a Huntaway.  They started barking at each other then the pound man yelled. “ SHUT UP YOU DUMB DOGS!” The man puts the dogs in the dog cages all the other dogs are howling. So Skyla and Bolt start howling too. The door swings open. The man is stopping into the room. He has dog food bowls in his hands for the dogs, once he reaches Bolt and Skyla they see’s in the bowl that there is only one bite to eat the food, the dogs felt very disappointed.


Hiwi the Kiwi


It was another exciting week of school. We were all ready to go. We hopped into the car. “ GRR GRR!” Went the engine. We raced down the driveway fast like a jet plane We went up and down the bumbs Bang! When the tyres hit the ground. We had arrived at... school. I saw so many kids crowding something. I wondered what it was. I hung up my bag. When I came back there were more people. The bell went. DING, DONG. Everyone scattered away to class. We were going to the busy hall. A man was standing on the stage singing songs while people were coming in like a mouse. He finished his song when all the classes were in the busy hall.

13 Storey Tree House

WALT: Create via Collaboration


Description:
What are we doing? Why are we doing it? How are we doing it? Who is in my group? What is your group building? Where do we do it? How often do we do it?


We are building a 13-storey treehouse on minecraft because we have read the book in class and we wanted to express our creativity by making what we think it looks like. We are doing it because Troy has read us the 13-storey tree house. We are building the 13 story tree house because we are using our creative knowledge into building the 13 storey tree house. We are doing it on minecraft. In my group is Inara Lachlan Olivia and Kate. Our group is building The Trunk, Elevator, Kitchen, Game room, And the main deck.  

If you want to know what the 13 storey tree house is, well it is a story by Andy Griffiths.

Positive: (What are the good things about doing this?)

I think the positive thing are, that we are going through it well, and it is looking good so far while we are building it.

Minus: (What are the tricky or not so good things about dong this?)

The bad things are, that there are a few bumps in the road, when I mean bumps in the road i mean a some arguments, Also there is internet issues on the ipads sometimes and this stops us getting online and being able to build.


Interesting: (What is something that you find interesting about this Eg: Not good or bad)

Well I am thinking of what is interesting is that if we can make it all the way to the 36 storey tree house. Or if we can finish the 13 storey tree house.

Story Pyramid

Today Sue was reading us a story about Stinkage. So we made a pyramid about Stinkage. Here is solution when Pippa (The main character.) steels lip gloss and gets caught, and her friends left her. So when her Mum comes she can tell the truth so then she won't get in so much trouble. So in future she won't have a friend like Kylie (One of her friends.),  because she dared Pippa to steel the cheery lip close.
